Yin Yu Tang House (蔭餘堂) is a late 18th-century Chinese house from Anhui province that had been removed from its original village and re-erected in Salem, Massachusetts.
The largest piece at the museum is the Yin Yu Tang House, a late 18th century home from the Anhui province of China. This house, constructed during the Qing dynasty, was acquired by Nancy Berliner, at the time PEM's curator of Chinese art and culture, before being taken apart and reassembled in Salem.

Yin Yu Tang House [81] Yin Yu Tang, was built around 1800 in China. Over 200 years after construction the Yin Yu Tang House was disassembled in China, shipped to America and then reassembled in 2003 inside the Peabody Essex Museum. 2005. In 2001, Prabhu became the First Deputy Director for Interpretation and Education, at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts. While working at PEM, Prabhu was involved with the interpretation of the Huang family's Yin Yu Tang House. [2] She helped to oversee the exhibitions plus education concept at PEM, which is still being implemented.
