Locus Magazine, covering the science fiction and fantasy field since 1968, is a monthly 8 1/2″ x 11″ full-color slick magazine, usually between 60 and 88 pages long. Locus publishes news of the science fiction, fantasy, horror, and young-adult publishing field, with extensive reviews and listings of new books, short fiction, and magazines.
The February 2023 issue of Locus is the annual Year in Review overview with essays, the Locus 2022 Recommended Reading List, and the magazine summary tracking the progress of the industry. The issue also features an interview with Suyi Davies Okungbowa.

Published in Locus magazine’s February 2023 issue, the list is assembled by Locus editors, columnists, outside reviewers, and other professionals and well-known critics of genre fiction and non-fiction. We looked at 982 titles from 2022 in short fiction and long fiction.
