New to the sight, besides a couple of purchases. A few months ago I decided to give service rifle a try, bought a white oak a4 service rifle upper with mk7 rail , the giessele mount you’re asking about, and the hi lux scope. Great setup btw. The mount Is rock solid. Have only had the woa upper to the range once to zero and test it at 200y.
Return the mount and get the regular ADM Recon. Your scope never needed the extra 2", but will benefit from some cantilever. Try putting your rear offset sight in front of the scope instead of behind it to get you some extra rail space. I had my offset sights like this for awhile for the same reason and didn't mind it.
I mounted a 1-4x24 Vortex Viper PST atop a government model Windham (20" barrel). Fully intending to remove the front sight (A2), I ordered a low profile gas block. The scope is attached to the rifle w/ an ADM Recon. With 1x I clearly see the upper 1/4 (approximately) of the front sight.
Vertical split rings are mounted much different than horizontally split rings. To mount a scope in vertical splits, you'll place the scope in the rings and tighten the bottoms to 18-20 inch pounds (yes, this is a bit higher than we normally recommend. But, keep reading). Then, you'll move to the top and tighten that to about the usual 16 inch ...
M14 Scope Mount FAQ by Lee Emerson 11/06/05 The M14 type rifle was designed to accept a scope mount. The M14 can be securely scoped if the installation is properly done. Scope Rail Types The two types of scope rails found on M14 scope mounts are the Weaver style and the Picatinny style.
This is the most common type you will find. Another used a rail on the scope. Almost like a weaver rail on the bottom. The "rings" basically clamped between the scope rail, and the optics rail on the rifle. This is what was used on the Colt rifle. The scope mount/optics rail was a standard ARMS product with a Colt logo.
TNVV/NG/PVS-14-GP – U.S. Gen3 Filmed Green Phosphor! $2599. [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Best Optic Mount for STEYR AUG A3. Posted: 6/28/2015 9:03:49 AM EST. I'm looking into acquiring an optic for a Steyr AUG 3 and looking at the Vortex VIPER PST.
The AN/PVS2 was the 2nd version in the 1st generation "starlight" or passive NV scopes used by the US military, there was the AN/PVS1, followed by the AN/PVS2 in 3 variants, & the AN/PVS3, each was smaller & lighter & a bit more electronically advanced than the preceeding model, the AN/PVS1 came into service approximately 65-66, the AN/PVS2 approximately 68-69, the AN/PVS3 was just coming into ...
I really like my RRA Cantilevered Scope Mount. The large knurled knobs make it easy to to remove and re-install on the rifle. Zero has always been perfectly maintained after taking the mount off and then putting it back on. For me the height is just right for the standard nose to charging handle aiming position. Well worth the price.
Rock solid, no shift. Jon Wolfe, a well known M14 gunsmith uses them on most of his scoped builds. $169.99 all day long at Brownells, but can be had for less if you shop around.
