    The article suggests all the causes of cramp are endogenous. I can get a leg cramp from bracing myself with my leg muscles e.g. sitting in a kayak and bracing my knees for stability; the cramp fades after a bit of stretching and does not recur (so not caused by blood supply being cut off etc.) but happens every time I canoe!
