Depoe Bay is a city in Lincoln County, Oregon, United States, located on U.S. Route 101 on the Pacific Ocean. The population was 1,398 at the 2010 census . The bay of the same name is a 6-acre (2.4 ha) harbor that the city promotes as the world's smallest navigable harbor.
Depoe Bay is defined as being the world's smallest natural navigable harbor. A harbor is different than a port in that a port is a facility for receiving ships and transferring cargo, while a harbor is more strictly defined as a body of water that protects vessels from the elements, I.E. high waves, storms, etc.
