The Ishihara test is a color vision test for detection of red–green color deficiencies. It was named after its designer, Shinobu Ishihara, a professor at the University of Tokyo, who first published his tests in 1917. The test consists of a number of Ishihara plates, which are a type of pseudoisochromatic plate.
An Ishihara test image as seen by subjects with normal color vision and by those with a variety of color deficiencies. A pseudoisochromatic plate (from Greek pseudo, meaning "false", iso, meaning "same" and chromo, meaning "color"), often abbreviated as PIP, is a style of standard exemplified by the Ishihara test, generally used for screening of color vision defects.
Color blindnessor color vision deficiency(CVD) is the decreased ability to see coloror differences in color.[2] The severity of color blindness ranges from mostly unnoticeable to full absence of color perception. Color blindness is usually an inheritedproblem or variation in the functionality of one or more of the three classes of cone cellsin ...

In color science, a color model is an abstract mathematical model describing the way colors can be represented as tuples of numbers, typically as three or four values or color components. When this model is associated with a precise description of how the components are to be interpreted (viewing conditions, etc.), taking account of visual ...
In the RGB model, the primary colors are red, green, and blue. The complementary primary–secondary combinations are red – cyan, green – magenta, and blue – yellow. In the RGB color model, the light of two complementary colors, such as red and cyan, combined at full intensity, will make white light, since two complementary colors contain ...
