Some of the earliest versions of "Vamos a la playa" tracks back to 1981, when Righi and some acquaintances paid visit to a mutual friend's music studio in Florence during New Year's Eve. According to Righi, he came up with the signature phrase "Vamos a la playa, oh-o-o-o-oh" while he was playing on a keyboard in the studio. [11]
In 1999 the duo got together and in 2001 released a new version of "Vamos a la playa". Righi's debut solo album, Ex punk, ora venduto, was released in 2006, via the Astroman record label.
