An Ordered Key-Value Store (OKVS) is a type of data storage paradigm that can support multi-model database. An OKVS is an ordered mapping of bytes to bytes. An OKVS will keep the key-value pairs sorted by the key lexicographic order. OKVS systems provides different set of features and performance trade-offs.
The key is used to order the sequence, and the value is somehow associated with that key. For example, a map might contain keys representing every unique word in a text and values representing the number of times that word appears in the text. A set is simply an ascending container of unique elements.
To search for a key, go to P[MapKey(k)], the start of the subarray that contains the key, if that key is in the data set; Sequentially search the subarray; if the key is found, return it (and associated information); if find a value greater than the key, the key is not in the data set; Computing P[MapKey(k)] takes () time.
