Walk Thru the Bible was founded in the United States in 1976 by Bruce Wilkinson and Howard Hendricks. [1] Its main purpose is to teach evangelical Christian biblical doctrines, primarily through an innovative seminar format, while providing additional resources through print, audio and video media productions.

In April 1969, John D. Brooke founded Trinity College and Theological Seminary and in mid-1978, Trinity moved to metropolitan Evansville, Indiana, and changed its focus from offering traditional on-campus degree programs to its current emphasis on distance education, providing undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate courses for self-directed adult learners.
It was founded in 1900 as the Bible Teacher's College. It ceased operating as an independent seminary on July 1, 2024. [ 1 ] Through a "long-term strategic partnership," [ 2 ] it continues on as the “NYTS Institute for Urban Engagement” at Union Theological Seminary .
The Bible Normal College affiliated with the seminary in 1902 and changed its name to Hartford School of Religious Pedagogy. [3] The Kennedy School of Missions became another affiliated activity, [3] originally organized by the Seminary as a separate organization in 1911. In 1913, these three endeavors were combined. [2]
