Rains County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 12,164. [2] Its seat is Emory. [3] The county (and county seat) are named for Emory Rains, a Texas state legislator. In 1970, Recorded Texas Historic Landmark Number 10860 was placed in the county courthouse lawn. [4]
Point is situated at the junction of U.S. Route 69 and Farm Roads 47 and 514 in northwestern Rains County, approximately eight miles northwest of Emory and sixty miles east of Dallas.
