Generally you will need some sort of adapter to do that, and it'll probably be priced high enough that a composite-to-HDMI adapter may be cheaper. Your best bet is to search the back of your TV for a red/white/yellow audio + composite input. Most TVs with component input also have composite input, since they're both analog.

Solution. #3. Try this... Turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off). Connect an external monitor to the laptop. Turn on the external monitor. Turn on the laptop. NOTE: You may have to press an "external monitor" button. Could be the f4 button or a button with two monitors on it, for the external monitor to work.

- If it will still stay on a white screen, connect an external monitor and see if the same problem will appear on it. - If the display is normal on the external monitor you may need to open the laptop and check the ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard.
