OKC Will Rogers International Airport [3] (IATA: OKC, ICAO: KOKC, FAA LID: OKC), also known as Will Rogers Airport or simply Will Rogers, is a passenger airport located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States, about 6 miles (10 km) southwest of the city's downtown area. It is a civil-military airport on 8,081 acres (12.63 sq mi) of land.
The city was ranked as being the 26th greenest in the country. [9] [10] [11] MetroMonitor ranked Tulsa 35th in the nation for economic recovery. [12] It was listed as 6th best city for small business and jobs by the Business Journal and Forbes in 2008. [13] In 2012, Tulsa was ranked second for young people to find a job by the Fiscal Times. Sky Harbor Airport's evocative name was conceived by J. Parker Van Zandt, the owner of Scenic Airways, who purchased 278 acres of farmland for Scenic's winter operations in November 1928. Sky Harbor was not only named but founded and built by Van Zandt in late 1928.
Tulsa International Airport (IATA: TUL, ICAO: KTUL, FAA LID: TUL) is a civil-military airport five miles (8 km) northeast of Downtown Tulsa, in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, United States. It was named Tulsa Municipal Airport when the city acquired it in 1929; [ 4 ] it received its present name in 1963. [ 5 ]
