Malta Township is one of nineteen townships in DeKalb County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2020 census, its population was 1,557 and it contained 631 housing units. [ 2 ] Malta Township was originally formed as Etna Township from a portion of DeKalb Township in September, 1856; it was renamed to Malta Township in December 1858.
As of the 2025 guide, there are seven restaurants in Malta with a Michelin-star rating, a rating system used by the Michelin Guide to grade restaurants based on their quality. [1] The Guide originally launched in 2020, [2] reviewing restaurants across the country.

Many of its artefacts are now held at the National Museum of Archaeology in Malta's capital city Valletta. [2] During the French blockade of 1798-1800, Maltese insurgents built Marsa Battery and Jesuit Hill Battery in Marsa to encircle the French in the Grand Harbour. Both batteries were demolished after the end of the blockade. [5]
