Pierre Samuel du Pont de Nemours (/ dj uː ˈ p ɒ n t, ˈ dj uː p ɒ n t / dew-PONT, DEW-pont, [1] French: [pjɛʁ samɥɛl dy pɔ̃ d(ə) nəmuʁ]; 14 December 1739 – 7 August 1817) was a French-American writer, economist, publisher and government official.
