Boulder Junction is a town in Vilas County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 956 at the 2018 census. In 1903, the Milwaukee Railroad laid tracks to the area that became known as Boulder Junction. While the railroad served the booming logging industry, it also attracted outdoors enthusiasts who came to fish and hunt.

Mamie Lake is an inland lake located in Land o' Lakes, Vilas County, Wisconsin. It is one of the main lakes on the ten lake Cisco Chain of Lakes. The lake is in both Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is 10 ft (3.0 m) deep and covers 376 acres (152 ha).
Rice Creek is located in northwest Vilas County, within the Northern Highland-American Legion State Forest, approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) south of Presque Isle and 6 miles (9.7 km) northwest of Boulder Junction. The site is best accessed via canoe, with a canoe landing located at Round Lake, at the end of Round Lake Rd. [4]
Originally located near West Olive (Port Sheldon) on Lake Michigan (1916–1927) it re-located to Duck Lake, near Whitehall, Michigan, in 1927 the property was acquired by the Nature Conservancy in the early 1970s and is now part of Duck Lake State Park.
