Re: Sea Ray Year-By-Year Buyer's Guide I bought a 1987 300 Sundancer about a month ago. Make sure you do some research, they went to a balsa-cored hull in the early to mid 90's I believe and there was all sorts of problems for a sevaral year span till they got the bugs worked out.

Re: Here I go again!! 1995 Sea Ray 220 Signature Deck and Stringer Restoration. I took core samples on the mounts and they are shot, and that is why I think the gimble bearing is making so much noise. The engine has settled a bit putting the output shaft in a bind.

But Sea Ray deckboats and Select bowriders are more plush than Regal. Some insiders say the Regals have better construction. Sea Ray may have an edge in customer service, of course that is mostly up to your local dealer. Regal deckboats and bowriders are typically priced well under Sea Ray. My transom is shot, so that's already out. Can't offer any suggestion on removing the transom on your outboard boat.
Anyway, we decided we want a bowrider. We went to the Sea Ray dealer yesterday and looked at their 185 Sport which was very nice (to us) We like the depth of the boat when you're inside and the comfortable seats. Our fish/ski wasn't very comfortable. We have narrowed it down to a few boats and I want your opinion on which one you would chose.
1989 Merc 4.3 Alpha 1 Sea Ray 180, less than 2 year old trim gauge is now pegged to the far left and will not move when lowering or raising drive. Merc Manual shows how to test every gauge BUT the trim gauge .
Apr 1, 2008. #16. Re: Sea Ray Transom, Stringers and Storage. It's just a bridge of putty or other material across the 90 degree joint between a hull and stringer, or elsewhere. Fiberglass, even when wet out, does not make sharp turns well, and tends to form bubbles at such places, which are weak and undesireable.
