He was First Judge of the Herkimer County Court from 1845 to 1847. After the re-organization of the New York court system, he was Judge and Surrogate of the Herkimer County Court from 1847 to 1855, [2] and from 1860 to 1863. [3] He was a delegate to the 1856 Republican National Convention.
