Lake Saint Francis (French: lac Saint-François, pronounced [lak sɛ̃ fʁɑ̃swa]) is a lake which borders southeastern Ontario, southwestern Quebec and northern New York State. It is located on the Saint Lawrence River between Lake Ontario and Montreal, Quebec. The lake forms part of the Saint Lawrence Seaway.
As an upper-tier municipality that excludes the City of Cornwall, the United Counties had a population of 64,824 living in 25,580 of its 27,018 total dwellings in the 2011 Census, a 0.7% change from its 2006 population of 64,374. With a land area of 3,247.32 km 2 (1,253.80 sq mi), it had a population density of 20.0/km 2 (51.7/sq mi) in 2011. [18]
The canal extended past the Long Sault rapids from Cornwall, Ontario, to Dickinson's Landing.
