The Model United Nations of the University of Chicago is a collegiate Model UN organization of undergraduates at the University of Chicago, co-founded in 1988 by Michael Volchok and Maneesh Arora. The university's competitive Model United Nations team was the top-ranked team in North America in 2013–2014, 2014–2015, 2015–2016, and again for the 2017–2018 season. The university's Model UN team is also the first to be in the top 5 for almost a decade, according to Best Delegate.
Model United Nations began as a series of student-led Model League of Nations simulations. The first simulations were called "international assemblies", the first of which was held at University of Oxford in November 1921, with the potential first ever simulation being on 12 November 1921.
