California Northstate University (CNU) successfully launched the College of Pharmacy in 2008. Senior operations staff at the College of Pharmacy began discussions for a new medical school in the greater Sacramento area in the spring of 2010 as a result of several publications and studies which indicated the need for an increase number of primary care physicians trained in California.
CNU men's lacrosse inaugural season was 2007 and was competitive from the start. In 2013, the Captains reached the NCAA Division III tournament for the first time. CNU reached the NCAA D-III 3rd round in 2018, and most notably, the final four in 2021. In 2022, the team became a charter member of the new Coastal Lacrosse Conference. [9]

The second phase of construction was completed a year later. This added a 1,700-seat Concert Hall that was acoustically designed for stage performance. Most likely, when "The Ferguson Center" is mentioned outside of Christopher Newport University, this is what is being referred to. The construction was led by two opening acts.
Each year, approximately 500 international exchange students come to study at CNU, while approximately 600 CNU students study abroad at various sister universities around the world. Its complex of dormitories can house 4,000 students. CNU is a research-oriented university, and the amount of its research funds exceeds more than US$150 million.
