"(You're) Having My Baby" is a song written and recorded in 1974 by Canadian singer Paul Anka. Recorded as a duet with female vocalist Odia Coates , the song became Anka's first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 15 years, since 1959's " Lonely Boy ".
Coates is best remembered for her duet with Paul Anka, "(You're) Having My Baby", that went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on August 24-September 7, 1974. [1] [2] Having heard Coates singing on an Edwin Hawkins Singers gospel album, he decided to use her on the recording as it needed a female voice.
The Coolies' first album, dig..? was released in 1986 by DB Records, and consisted of nine tongue-in-cheek covers of Simon & Garfunkel classics plus a version of Paul Anka's 1974 No. 1 hit "(You're) Having My Baby".
