The champions and runners-up of the first division are promoted to the Victorian Premier League for the 2014 season only. The top two teams of the Victorian State League 2 South-East and North-West, the third tier in Victoria and the fourth nationally, are promoted to Victorian State League 1 the next season and the bottom two teams the State League 1 are relegated.
The Victorian Premier League and State League 1 to 3 remained the same. 2013 will also see the inaugural State League Champions series take place in Victoria. The champion of each league from State League 1 and below will play a finals series against the champions of other regions in their division as follows:
In 2016, the club re-introduced senior women's football, establishing a team that won the State League 4 West Championship at its first attempt. In the semi-finals, Hoppers Crossing defeated Women's State League 4 North champions Meadow Park SC 4–0. The final was forfeited by Knox City FC, giving the title of overall FFV State League 4 Champions.

In 2019, Geelong SC obtained National Premier Leagues Victoria status after being crowned 2018 champions of Football Victoria State League 1 North-West. Geelong SC is based at Winslow Park which is located in the Stead Park Sports Precinct in Corio, Victoria and is strongly supported by the Macedonian community of Geelong.
