Sukawati is a district in Gianyar Regency, Bali, Indonesia. As of the 2010 census, the area was 55.02 km 2 and the population was 110,429; [ 1 ] the latest official estimate (as at mid 2019) is 125,470.
Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati (Balinese: ᬢ᭄ᬚᭀᬓᭀᬃᬤᬑᬓᬅᬃᬝᬅᬃᬤᬦᬲᬸᬓᬯᬢᬶ; born 23 January 1957), known as Cok Ace is an Indonesian politician, scientist and nobleman who is the Vice Governor of Bali from 2018 to 2023, He once also serving as a regent of Gianyar from 2008 to 2013.
Sukawati family from the beginning of the XIX century ruled Ubud, the principality of Gianyar; the latter, in turn, depended on the Dutch administration. Sukawati's father, Tjokorda Gede Sukawati, was the ruler of Ubud at the time of his son's birth. In his young years, Soekawati attended a school for Indonesian officials.
