Rin recounts the tragic demise of her family's dojo by the Ittō-ryū to Yaobikuni, who sends her to seek Manji. Meanwhile, the Mugai-ryū has received word about Manji’ appearance, unsure whether he is an ally or a foe. Rin tries to convince Manji to help her defeat the Ittō-ryū, but he needs to know which side is just.
