State Road 884 (SR 884), along with County Road 884 (CR 884), together create Lee County, Florida's primary east–west partially controlled access highway, linking Cape Coral in the western portion of the county to Lehigh Acres and Alva in the eastern portion.

SR 884 is Lee County's main east–west arterial highway. Its western terminus is in the incorporated limits of the City of Cape Coral and the eastern terminus is in Lehigh Acres. Within Cape Coral, the highway is named "Veterans' Memorial Parkway", and is a multilane, controlled-access highway. Within Fort Myers, it is named "Colonial Boulevard".

North of the intersection with People's Lane, SR 539 and Kathleen Road runs parallel to the east side of the CSX Vitis Subdivision, both of which run under a 1966-built bridge for U.S. Route 92 (hidden SR 546). [2] Access to US 92 can be found south of this bridge at the intersection with Quincy Street then to Lincoln Avenue.
