B.P. Marine is a maritime training academy located at Navi Mumbai. B.P. Marine Academy operates in two campuses at Belapur and Panvel, hence the name, both are situated in Navi Mumbai in an area of about 40 acres (160,000 m 2). [1]
It succeeded the earlier maritime training vessels, T.S. Rajendra (1972–1993) and T.S. Dufferin (1927–1972). Unlike its predecessors, which were actual ships moored at Ferry Wharf in Mumbai, the present campus is situated on land in Navi Mumbai, spanning approximately 40 acres.
The institute was assessed in a comprehensive inspection program by the DG Shipping Govt of India in year 2015 and ranked No 1 among all maritime training institutes in India. The criteria for assessment included infrastructure, ambience, faculty and quality of training imparted, student development program, onboard training and placement records.
