The site along the west side of the Scioto River near the Discovery Bridge on Broad Street was originally home to the Franklin County Veterans Memorial, [3] which originally opened in 1955 [4] and was demolished to make way for the museum in early 2015, [5] by S.G. [1] The district includes 18 buildings, including three that are non-contributing, and one contributing building that has since been demolished.
