Terre Haute Action Track (also The Action Track) is a half-mile dirt racetrack located at the Vigo County, Indiana, fairgrounds on U.S. Route 41 along the south side of Terre Haute, Indiana. The track hosts annual United States Automobile Club (USAC) midget car , sprint car and Silver Crown events.
The 2022 USAC Silver Crown Champ Car Series was the 51st season of Silver Crown racing under the USAC banner. The season began with the Sumar Classic at Terre Haute Action Track on May 1 and ended at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park on October 22. [1] The entire season was featured live and on-demand on FloRacing. [2]
Later in the year, the race was revived and rescheduled for the night of August 23 (the same day as the Indy 500), but back at the Fairgrounds track, as the planned improvements to convert the Fairgrounds oval to a horse racing facility were delayed. For the 2021 season, the Hoosier Hundred was replaced by the Sumar Classic at Terre Haute.
