Crawford County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census, the population was 16,525. [1] Its county seat is Denison. [2] The county was named for William Harris Crawford, [3] U.S. senator from Georgia and United States Secretary of the Treasury.
The first Crawford County Fair was held on the courthouse property in October 1860. A frame addition was built that doubled its size in the 1870s.
