Kanahā Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary (KPSWS) is a 208-acre wetland in Kahului on the island of Maui, Hawaiʻi. [1] The brackish-water sanctuary, situated between the ocean, an urban and commercial area, and Kahului International Airport, is home to many native plant and animal species, including over 100 native plants and invertebrate species, and 86 bird species.
The wetland is also a 691-acre (2.80 km 2) bird sanctuary, home to 30 species of waterfowl, shorebirds, and migratory ducks, including the ʻaukuʻu (black-crowned night heron, Nycticorax nycticorax hoactli) and the endangered āeʻo (Hawaiian stilt, Himantopus mexicanus knudseni) and ʻalae keʻokeʻo (Hawaiian coot, Fulica alai).
Lehua Island is a Hawaii State Wildlife Sanctuary. As a restricted sanctuary, all activities are prohibited on the island without a permit. Public access to the island is restricted to areas below the high tide water mark. [2] Lehua provides habitat for at least 16 species of seabirds.

James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge is a National Wildlife Refuge on the island of Oʻahu, Hawaii. It was established in 1976 [ 1 ] [ 2 ] to permanently protect an ecologically-intact unit and to provide habitat for native and migratory fauna and native flora.
