KGGI (99.1 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Riverside, California, and broadcasting to the Inland Empire. The station airs a rhythmic contemporary radio format and is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. Its studios are on Iowa Avenue in Riverside. KGGI has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 2,550 watts.
With the rhythmic contemporary format, KWIE competed with 99.1 KGGI, a rhythmic station also heard around the Inland Empire. On July 19, 2007, the station was sold to Liberman Broadcasting Inc. for $25 million. When the deal closed, the callsign KWIE moved to 93.5 FM in Ontario, California (formerly under the call sign KDAI).
In the 1990s, Laboe worked for radio station KGGI. [14] In January 2006, Laboe debuted another syndicated request and dedication radio show, The Art Laboe Connection. The show began on weeknights on KDES-FM in Palm Springs and KOKO-FM in Fresno.
