Dipterocarpus turbinatus (Khmer chhë tië:l dâ:ng; [3] India gurjan, [4] gurjun, [4] gurgina; Tagalog mayapis; [5] Chinese 羯布罗香 jie bu luo xiang; [6] Malay language keruing, [4] the last an international name for Dipterocarpus wood) is a species of tree in the family Dipterocarpaceae native to north-eastern India and mainland Southeast Asia, and cultivated in surrounding regions.
Originally this bridge was built near Bellbrook to cross the Little Sugar Creek. It was moved to the Carillon Historical Park in Dayton in 1948. Everett Covered Bridge: Peninsula Summit County, Ohio: unk, rebuilt 1975 Over Furnace Run. The original construction date is unknown, the bridge was severely damaged in a 1913 flood and rebuilt.
Its wood is used to produce good quality charcoal, paper pulp, and timber sold under the Keruing designation. Its gum is used locally as a waterproofing varnish. The tree itself is very useful for nitrogen fixing, erosion control, soil improvement, and watershed regulation.
