It was released on 22 March 1982 in the US by Harvest and Capitol Records, [1] and on 29 March 1982 in the UK by EMI Records. [2] The album was their first to feature vocalist Bruce Dickinson and their last with drummer Clive Burr.
The album sold two million copies worldwide. [7] It is considered one of the very best metal albums ever released in Spain, and one of the band's best releases. [8] On 27 August 1982, Barón Rojo played at the Reading music festival, along with renowned bands such as Iron Maiden, Twisted Sister, and Marillion.
