Tara Davis-Woodhall (/ ˈ t ɑːr ə / TAR-ə; née Davis; born May 20, 1999) [2] is an American track and field athlete. She won a gold medal in women's long jump at the 2024 Summer Olympics and also a silver medal at the 2023 World Championships.
One of the most successful long jumpers of all-time, she is a former world record holder and ranks third on the all-time list with her legal best of 7.48 metres in 1988. Her marginally wind-assisted jump of 7.63 metres (+2.1) in 1992 at altitude in Sestriere, is still the furthest a woman has ever long jumped.
Nayana's 6.55m jump is among the Top 5 Indian performances in long jump event history. [2] In 2018, she secured the 12th place in the Commonwealth Games Women's Long Jump event. [ 6 ] At the 2018 Asian Indoors Games, Nayana bagged the silver medal with a leap of 6.08m in Women's Long Jump.
