  2. Is there a systemic pesticide for mealy bugs?

    www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchidtalk/showthread.php?t=8540

The point of this article is to mention that the systemic insecticide imidacloprid, trade name Merit (also known as Marathon), is a broad-spectrum systemic insecticide that has been used on orchids. It is an odorless analog of nicotine, a chemical used in the past for controlling aphids. Imidacloprid is of low

  4. Pot. 'clouds creek heavenly scent' - rv-orchidworks.com

    www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchidtalk/showthread.php?t=27167

I think it is attributed to THRIPS, or SCALE or MEALY BUG, where the insect sucks the juices from the cells and causes them to collapse and die-causing these spots. But that looks a bit more suspicious-seperate from the others and try using a good insecticide, and if nothing works after a couple of months, send a sample to a lab for testing ...

The secretion is an excess of photosynthesis. Sugars are formed and when he's full the extra produced sugars are excreted. I predict that you grow under a lot of light. As long as the light is not too much, good chance that you will have a lot of flower (stalks) soon. Maurice.

It is the concentrated excrement from worms (used in composting tanks) diluted in water at a ratio of 50 to 1. It is supposed to be a very effective all natural fertilizer as well as antifungal and peticide all wrapped into one. You can spray the whole plant with it, as well as water the roots with it.

To my surprise, actually. But now my precious little Phal bellina has decided to hand in the towel in protest of its new habitat :-(. It was sudden, no time for a rescue mission. It MIGHT have been an aggressive earlier mealy bug treatment that did it, can't be sure, but now I have a few

  11. Entomological- Naming Bugs

    www.rv-orchidworks.com/orchidtalk/showthread.php?t=37432

Hi, everyone. Like most of you, I am on constant guard against mealy bugs and scale. In the past, I have used insecticide soap, alcohol, and systemic methods as both a preventative and treatment. However, I want to start using a more organic method, predatory bugs, but need to know the correct name of what bad-bugs I am trying to control/eradicate.
