Weldon Myrick (born Weldon Merle Myrick; April 10, 1938 – June 2, 2014) was an American steel guitar player. [1] Myrick was born in Jayton, Texas. His debut came in 1964, when he played on the #1 country hit "Once a Day" by Connie Smith. She would call Myrick "the guy who was responsible for creating the Connie Smith sound." [2]
Thomas Rexton Brumley (December 11, 1935 – February 3, 2009) was an American pedal steel guitarist and steel guitar manufacturer. In the 1960s, Brumley was a part of the sub-genre of country music known as the "Bakersfield sound".
Gerald Lester Byrd (March 9, 1920 [1] – April 11, 2005) [2] was an American musician who played the lap steel guitar in country and Hawaiian music, as well as a singer-songwriter and the head of a music publishing firm. He appeared on numerous radio programs.
