Alice Forgy Kerr (born August 30, 1954) is an American politician who served in the Kentucky Senate from the 12th district from 1999 to 2023. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] She was the Republican nominee in the 2004 Kentucky's 6th congressional district special election , losing to Democratic candidate Ben Chandler .
2012 Kerr was unopposed for both the May 22, 2012 Republican Primary [3] and the November 6, 2012 General election, winning with 16,294 votes. [4]1980s and early 1990s Kerr was initially elected in the 1984 Democratic Primary and the November 6, 1984 General election and re-elected in the general elections of November 4, 1986, November 8, 1988, November 6, 1990, and November 3, 1992.
The Herald-Leader was created by a 1983 merger of the Lexington Herald and the Lexington Leader. The story of the Herald begins in 1870 with a paper known as the Lexington Daily Press. In 1895, a descendant of that paper was first published as the Morning Herald, later to be renamed the Lexington Herald in 1905.
