Charlie and Lola is a British animated children's television series based on the Charlie and Lola children's picture book series by Lauren Child, produced by Tiger Aspect Productions for CBeebies. It ran for 3 series from 7 November 2005 [1] to 24 April 2008, winning multiple BAFTA Children's Awards throughout its run.
The CBeebies channel launched on 11 February 2002 alongside the CBBC channel, as a spinoff from the BBC's children's television strand. The first four shows to air on the channel were Teletubbies, Binka, Step Inside and Bits and Bobs. [2] [3] CBeebies domestically broadcasts from 5:30 am to 7:00 pm, broadcasting seven days per week.

The rating was more than double the previous record, set by an episode of Alphablocks, Numberjacks, Waybuloo, Fimbles, Charlie and Lola, Teletubbies, The Lingo Show and The Octonauts that year, as well as other CBeebies favourites since the station's launch in 2002, although an episode of Numberjacks peaked at over 1 million back in 2009.
