The Bellefonte Hospital was founded on July 8, 1902 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. In 1924, it was renamed the Centre County Hospital. In 1972, the Mountainview Unit was opened at the current location in State College, and the original location was known as the Willowbank Unit. The Willowbank unit closed in 1978.
