The Collection is a greatest hits compilation album by Canadian-American singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette, released in the United States on 15 November 2005. It comprises material from 1995 to 2005, with some soundtrack selections and a cover of Seal 's " Crazy ".
In 2005, Morissette released The Collection, her first and so far the only greatest hits compilation, and Jagged Little Pill Acoustic, which marked a 10-year anniversary of the original album. Her seventh studio set, Flavors of Entanglement , was released in 2008 and became her last album on Maverick Records. [ 19 ]
Alanis Nadine Morissette was born on June 1, 1974, at Riverside Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, [19]: 4 [20] the daughter of Georgia Mary Ann (née Feuerstein) and Alan Richard Morissette. [21] Her older brother, Chad (born 1971), is an entrepreneur, [ 22 ] and her twin brother, Wade (12 minutes older), is a musician.
Also included in the box set is a short booklet of Alanis photos and other extras, including a note to her fans written by Morissette herself. The Singles Box was released only in Europe and Australia in limited quantities. Morissette's sixth single, "All I Really Want", is the only single that wasn't given a disc in The Singles Box.
