The Wardlaw-Steele House in Ripley, Tennessee was built in c.1842. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. [1] It is a two-story Greek Revival wood-frame building with a two-story portico having six Ionic columns. It has 14 rooms, with eight fireplaces linked to three large chimneys. [2]
West end of Seven Gables Hotel in 1884. In 1850 Foute sold 3,840 acres (1,550 ha) including the hotel to Asa Watson. Watson tore down the log hotel in 1853 and built a much grander structure. The new three-story hotel was named "The Seven Gables Hotel", an elegant building with large porches on each floor, 200 feet (61 m) long.
