Dare is an English rock band from Oldham, fronted by former Thin Lizzy keyboard player Darren Wharton. They formed in 1985 and have released eleven albums to date, ten studio and one live. Their most recent album was originally due to be released in 2019, although it was later delayed with Road to Eden announced by the band in January 2022. [1]
The album was a massive commercial success, reaching number one on the UK Albums Chart in its second week of release. The album's release was expected to be the climax of an enormously successful year for the band, but Virgin Records' Simon Draper decided he wanted an additional single from the album before the end of the year. Harrison Patrick Smith (born March 19, 1996), [1] known professionally as The Dare and formerly as Turtlenecked, is an American singer and musician.He is best known for his single "Girls", released in August 2022, [2] and for producing the song "Guess" by Charli XCX from the deluxe version of her 2024 album Brat.
The first remix of the song appeared on the band's 1982 remix album Love and Dancing, which contained remixes of various tracks from the band's Dare period. In August 2003, a mash-up of the instrumentation of "The Things That Dreams Are Made Of" and the lyrics to SOS Band 's " The Finest " was released as a single under the title "Finest Dreams".
