The A390 is a road in Cornwall and Devon, England.It runs from Tavistock to 5 miles (8.0 km) north west of the city of Truro.Starting in Tavistock, it heads south-westwards towards Liskeard, crossing over the River Tamar and into Cornwall, then through Gunnislake and Callington.
Its council was based in Truro. The main centres of population, industry and commerce were the city of Truro and the towns of Falmouth/Penryn. The district was created under the Local Government Act 1972, on 1 April 1974 by the merger of the municipal boroughs of Truro, Falmouth and Penryn, and the Truro Rural District.
Threemilestone has grown in recent years, as housing estates to the west have been developed. Between Truro and Threemilestone there is a continuous line of schools, colleges and industrial estates, including Truro College and Richard Lander School. Furthermore the village also houses a primary school (known locally: Threemilestone Primary School).
