Carbost (Scottish Gaelic: Càrrabost) is a village on the southwest shore of Loch Harport on the Minginish peninsula of the Isle of Skye in Scotland. Carbost becomes a tourist hub in summer months due to the presence of the Talisker Distillery which is also one of the main employers in the village along with the local pub, The Old Inn.
On Sunday 19th July 2020, Cuillin FM officially became Radio Skye following a rebrand and relaunch. Radio Skye has subsequently expanded its transmission to the rest of the Isle of Skye via the high-power Skriaig transmitter site, and in 2022 extended its signal coverage to previously unserved areas of Sleat and Trotternish, including Staffin.
In July 2021 Skye Live broadcast a free online festival featuring performances by Sian_(band), Brìghde_Chaimbeul & Aidan_O'Rourke_(musician), Lord Of The Isles (feat. Ellen Renton) and Niteworks . Bracadale (Scottish Gaelic: Bracadal) is a settlement and civil parish on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. [1] [2] It lies on the west coast of the island, west-south-west of Portree, on Loch Beag, an inlet off Loch Harport. Nearby settlements include Struan to the west and Coillore on the opposite shore of Loch Beag.
The town plays host to the Isle of Skye's shinty club, Skye Camanachd. [22] They play at Pairc nan Laoch above the town on the road to Struan. Portree is home to two football clubs that play in the Skye and Lochalsh amateur football league called Portree and Portree Juniors. Portree is now home to a new youth football club, Skye Young Boys.
