An IKEA Billy bookshelf. Billy (stylised as BILLY) is a bookcase sold by the Swedish furniture company IKEA. It was developed in 1979 by the Swedish designer Gillis Lundgren, and IKEA have sold over 140 million units of the bookcases worldwide. Its popularity and global spread has led to its use as a barometer of relative worldwide price levels.

In 2008, IKEA paired up with the makers of video game The Sims 2 to make a stuff pack called IKEA Home Stuff, featuring many IKEA products. It was released on 24 June 2008 in North America and 26 June 2008 in Europe. It is the second stuff pack with a major brand, the first being The Sims 2 H&M Fashion Stuff.
Until the actual launch of IVAR, development of the IVAR backpack was slow as Ivarson was a college student and student-athlete during most of that time. Following graduation from the University of Denver, Ivarson launched IVAR in July 2006 with one single daypack model from an office and warehouse on Bank Street in San Anselmo, California.
