But the number who said yes to owning Shimano rods would be more spread out as many people will use rods by other manufacturers that don't make reels, St. Croix, Dobyns, Megabass, etc. On 4/18/2019 at 5:49 PM, teamfyss said:
OK, endless stellar reviews and the bait monkey wins...I've committed to sucking it up and spending the cash on an Expride sometime before the end of hard water...looking for ultra sensitive while easy casting 1/4-3/4+ ounce T and C rig plastics, spoons, jigs, spinnerbaits, and maybe some shallow...
So far it has been Dobyns for me, I really like the Customer Service. I own 8 of their rods from every series except the Sierra and Colt. I have a Lew's, St.Croix, Fenwick and 13 Fishing rod, but like Dobyns better. I would love to try a Megabass Destroyer, Shimano Expride, G.Loomis NRX & Conquest, Kistler Zbone & H3 and some Daiwa rods though.
Its light in the hand and the blank is thin and very sensitive. I like thin blanks! The Levantes have about a 14-14.5" handle on most all of their rods whereas the Zodias have a 14" on their 6'10's and a 16" on their 7'2's. I prefer the shorter 14-14.5" handle lengths for most of my rods.
Went to the tackle store today to handle a few Shimano rods. Was quite suprised to see the made in China stickers. I had no idea, thought Shimano was made in Japan. Who makes rods somewhere besides China?
Shimano has always stood behind the quality of all our products and with that in mind we are adding two Rod Service programs to use in addition to the 1 Year Limited Warranty. The two additional programs are simple and straight forward. They are:• 30 Day Guarantee – Protection against initial fail...
Location Northern California. My PB: Between 7-8 lbs. Favorite Bass: Largemouth. Posted April 7, 2019. When I first started fishing the Shimano rods were one of the best bang for the buck rods out there, the Clarus in particular was the standard for a solid quality rod for only $80, with a lifetime warranty to boot.
They were supposed to be available back in March before the wuflu. The new Zodias rods were also engineered to pair well with Shimano's new Vanford F spinning reels, and the matching colors was no coincidence. These technique specific rods will retail from $199.99 to $219.99 when they hit the market in August.

If they don't (and you don't have any shimano dealers near you), send it in to shimano and they will send you the new Cumara given yours is discontinued. Thanks. Fingers crossed.
The Terez are hands down my favorite rods. If shimano could fix the rust issues, they would be perfect. Fuji makes the guides, not Shimano. We changed the thread wraps to try and reduce the chances of the issue. From our findings the surface corrosion doesn't happen when you wash the rods after use.
