The Mazdaspeed3 is a sport compact hatchback introduced for the 2007 model year by Mazdaspeed and produced until 2013. The Mazdaspeed3 is a performance-enhanced version of the 5-door Mazda3 . Mazda unveiled the Mazda3 MPS (Mazda Performance Series) at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show in February.
Considering that the practical differences between the 5-door 3 and the Speed3 relate solely to the drivetrain, suspension, wheels, and chassis stiffening, and the fact that the Speed3's length is the same as that of the normal 5-door 3, I would argue that the Speed3 is also classified as a hatchback.
