Adamson University (Filipino: Pamantasang Adamson; AdU or ADU) is a private Catholic university operated by the Congregation of the Mission located in Manila, Philippines.The university has academic programs in graduate school, law, the liberal arts, sciences, engineering, nursing, pharmacy, architecture, business administration, and education, as well as secondary, elementary, and preschool.
Already in 1897 almost the whole of the Faculty of Arts at King's College was formed by 'Education' students. In 1900 a Board of Studies in Pedagogy was formed, of which Adamson became the secretary, and later chairman. Adamson's role was further recognized by his appointment as lecturer in 1901 and as professor in 1903. [8]

The Adamson Soaring Falcons won the championship of the 2003 University Games. The Adamson Lady Falcons won back-to-back women's basketball championships twice, 2003-2004 and 2009–2010. The Adamson Baby Falcons were the UAAP juniors basketball champions for six straight years from 1988 to 1993.
Sofia Adamson (August 24, 1916 – May 19, 2007) was an American who founded the Pacific Asia Museum in Los Angeles, co-founded Adamson University in the Philippines, and worked for General Douglas MacArthur in the Philippines.
