Pegasus Seiya (天馬星座 ( ぺガサス ) の星矢, Pegasasu no Seiya) is the Bronze Saint of Pegasus in the 20th century and titular character of the series. An orphaned child later revealed to be one of Mitsumasa Kido's sons, he was separated from his sister Seika and sent to Greece to become a Saint, a soldier of the goddess Athena.

Seiya arrives at Chamos Island by Alman's request but is confronted by a group of Sanctuary guards. The Silver Knight Eagle Marin prevents the guards from executing Seiya once she hears his name, taking him as her own student. After 6 years of training, Seiya defeats Cassios and finally obtains the Pegasus Armor.
