The game is set in a magical country named "Wonderland" with the main character tasked with finding his female relative named "Alice". Most characters in the game are direct references to either characters in the book (Such as "Sleeping Rat Dormouse" or "Shrine Maiden Bill") or from other children's books (such as the potential ally "Red Hood").

Alice in Wonderland allows players to guide, protect and aid Alice as she journeys through the world of Wonderland while unraveling the game's many twisted mysteries.
